Abstract:
The objective of this report was to evaluate the integrated termite control with different insecticides chemistry and formulations. It was done a complete survey of the infestations and established a maintenance project, the strengthening of the deteriorated woods and insecticide treatment. The treatments were carried out on wood pieces infested with subterranean termites (Coptotermes gestroi) and drywood termites (Cryptotermes brevis) on the roof and wood structures of the Pinacoteca and Estação Pinacoteca both located in São Paulo, Brazil. After detailed visual termite inspection, it was chosen the most appropriate treatment. The roof woods of Estação Pinacoteca were sprayed with OPTIGARD LT 25 WG (neonicotinoid insecticide, thiamethoxam, 250 g /kg) at a concentration of 2%, 20g commercial product/ 10 L, diluted in water, applied by spraying. The Pinacoteca roof woods were treated with CYMPERATOR 25 CE (pyrethroid insecticide, Cypermethrin, 250 g/Kg) at dilution 50 mL of commercial product / 10L in isoparaffins. A protective perimeter barrier was applied with Thiamethoxam LT 25 WG (20 g commercial product/10L of water), applied in holes of 50 cm deep, spaced by 40 cm, each hole has received about 1 liter insecticide solution. The Pinacoteca treatment was monitored for 18 months and Estação Pinacoteca for 8 months, both showed control of termite infestations with different formulations and chemical classes.
