Abstract:
A modified test-tube bioassay was developed for Heterotermes aureususing Arizona soil samples from covered and exposed weathered termiticide plots. An organophosphate, a pyrethroid, a phenylpyrazol, and a nicotinoid were evaluated at 4 hours and 12 months post-application. Termites were placed in bioassays and checked after 7 days for survival and soil penetration. Bioassays conducted at 12 months showed statistical differences (P<0.05) among termiticides tested in terms of survival and penetration.
