About Us
The ICUP is an independent not-for-profit organisation. The primary objectives of the ICUP are:
To provide a forum for the exchange of ideas and information through scientific discussion of pests associated with the urban environment.
To enhance worldwide communication and cooperation among all those working with these pests.
Each Conference is planned and conducted by a local Organising Committee, comprising people predominantly from the host country. The Organising Committee has the opportunity to select topics and speakers that address both local pest problems as well as global issues.
Conferences are typically 3-day events that include a Plenary Session for general topics and emerging technologies, presented papers based on original research, workshops linked to specific topics, and posters presenting preliminary or completed research. Students and young scientists are especially encouraged to attend and make presentations. The Organising Committee issues a call for papers about 1 year in advance of the Conference. Submitted abstracts are reviewed and selected authors notified. The papers and posters selected for presentation are published in the Proceedings, which is available at the start of the Conference.
Guidance and governance of the ICUP is provided by an Executive Committee. This group maintains the financial structure, establishes protocol and policy for meeting sites, Organising Committees, and Conference Proceedings. The ICUP constitution provides a firm foundation for the long- term success of the Conference
